Spike – What a remarkable and insightful blog! I look forward to reading more and passing your blog onto my cousins who are educators and principals as well as Jeff Pollock at Thomas Jefferson Elementary. Your “about me” on social justice resonated with me. I have been an educator in this field of Catholic Social Teaching for a number of years. It obviously speaks to your vocation as an educator and servant leader. (See! You are a pastor after all!) I would like to share this resource/link with you. I know you will find it personally and professionally insightful.

Also, If you Google Poverty Tour USA, you will come across an excellent video on poverty in the US. The current poverty line statistics need to be updated. Since Thomas Jefferson has a poverty rate of 40%, Jeff Pollock used this video with his staff to increase sensitivity and awareness not only for “TJ’s situation but also as a tool to highlight the importance of education as “breaking the cycle of poverty.”
    Pax et bonum! Mike

Thank you very much for your visit to Camden County Technical Schools. Your presentation and a special peek into Bacon School was very much appreciated. We enjoyed your candid remarks as they applied to our ongoing understanding of technology and education. Thank you. Bacon seems like a great school with a great bunch of kids. Enjoyed the Bacon dance too.
